The project is called We the Citizens (http://www.wethecitizens.ie) and is an independent national initiative with a clear and simple idea. It aims to show how our Republic could benefit by citizens coming together in new ways of public decision-making.
Chaired by Fiach MacConghail (Director of Abbey Theatre) and funded by Chuck Feeney's Atlantic Philanthropies the project leverages the internet and social media with real world events leading to a Citizens Assembly in Dublin in June 2011.
